30 students and graduates of engineering and technical specialties with the support of DBK will be trained at the largest enterprises of Kazakhstan

Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of National Management Holding Baiterek JSC, hereinafter the Bank, DBK) announces the launch of the social and educational project “Kerek Adam” (hereinafter the Project) aimed at promoting and developing technical competencies. The project is implemented jointly with the public association “Taiburyl” (hereinafter - the Association, NGO “Taiburyl”), to which the Bank allocates a grant in the amount of 9 million KZT. Within the framework of the Project, 30 students of 3-4 courses and graduates (2015-2018 years of graduation) of secondary special and higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan who are studying or have studied engineering and technical specialties will receive paid internship from November of this year to April 2019 at the largest enterprises of the country, including those financed by the Bank.

"The Development Bank of Kazakhstan, as one of the key operators of the New Industrialization Program, is interested in expanding the potential of engineering and technical competencies, which ultimately contributes to the successful implementation of the largest industrial projects in our country. I believe that the Bank’s support for private initiatives in this direction will contribute to the development of the above potential, ”said Bolat Zhamishev, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK.

The selection of interns participating in the Project will be carried out on a competitive basis in two stages. At the first stage, applicants must submit an application on the Association's website http://taiburyl.kz with annex of supporting documents for full compliance with the selection criteria, and in the second, write an essay on the topic “The Importance of my profession for modern Kazakhstan”.

The criteria for the selection of applicants are:

  • Citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • education at the 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a specialized educational institution or a graduate diploma, and the academic performance must be at least 3.7 GPA points;
  • training in such technical specialties as mechanical engineering, metallurgy, power system, electric power industry, automation and management, chemistry, physics, computer systems, oil and gas business, standardization, certification, logistics, geology, radio engineering, etc.

Obtaining awards and taking prizes at academic republican and international competitions while studying, participating in conferences and forums, implementing your own projects demonstrating social responsibility and the ability to apply professional skills and knowledge in practical activities will be additional advantages for applicants for internships.

The collection of applications for participation in the Project will be opened in November of this year. The selection of applicants at the first stage will be carried out by the NGO “Taiburyl”. The results of the second, final stage will be summarized with the participation of representatives of DBK. The results of the competition will be published on the official website of the Bank - http://kdb.kz, as well as the website of the Union - http://taiburyl.kz.

The winners of the competition will undergo an internship with a monthly payment of 50 000 KZT at one of the following enterprises: Atyrau Oil Refinery, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, Aktobe Rail and Beam Plant, plant for the production of switches and railway wheels in Ekibastuz Prommashkomplekt LLP, Condensate JSC (West Kazakhstan region), Space Station Almaty and others.
