DBK to Support Creation of Strategic IT Hub “Data Centre Valley”

The project is being implemented under an investment agreement with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Financing from the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter – DBK, the Bank), will allow construction of the first phase to begin and lay the groundwork for the creation of an international industrial hub for hyperscale data centres and next-generation AI infrastructure. In the longer term, the project is expected to become a platform for the development of cloud technologies, artificial intelligence and high-performance digital services.

The Data Centre Valley is designed to meet the growing demand from businesses for computing capacity, accelerate the digital transformation of the economy, support the development of export-oriented IT services and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as one of Eurasia’s leading digital and technology hubs.

The construction of the Data Centre Valley will be a practical step in implementing the reforms initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the Year of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence.

The project’s initial capacity will be around 50 MW, with subsequent phased expansion as demand grows and needs are confirmed by international market participants. The launch of the first phase is scheduled for 2027.

The first phase of the project is expected to have a direct impact on the development of non-resource exports, the attraction of international technology partners and the creation of new highly skilled jobs.
