Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of the holding «Baiterek») and Prima Kus LLP (hereinafter referred to as the Company) signed an agreement to open a credit line to finance a project to build the second stage of a modern poultry complex for the production and processing of broiler meat in the Almaty region.
This strategically important project is aimed at strengthening the food security of Kazakhstan and providing high-quality products of local production. It is planned that after the launch of the factory in 2025, the volume of output will increase to 26.5 tons of poultry meat per year and will create about 700 jobs.
The total cost of the project is 10,9 billion tenge, the loan amount from the DBK will amount to 8,4 billion tenge, for up to 9 years, the Company's own participation – 2,5 billion tenge. The DBK funds will be allocated as part of a new Program to support investment projects in the agro-industrial complex (AIC), the food and beverage sector for 2024-2029, which was announced by the Bank in July this year.
«Implementation of the program will contribute to the expansion of production capacity in the agro-industrial complex and food industry of the country, as well as an increase in the production of products with high added value, which will enhance the competitiveness of domestic producer»s, noted the Chairman of the Board of DBK Marat Yelibayev.
This poultry complex is part of the DBK's pool of projects to expand the capacities of poultry farms in Kazakhstan, which together in the coming years will provide almost 200 thousand tons of poultry meat per year in addition. This volume, together with the currently produced 328 thousand tons per year, will ensure the domestic demand of the country for poultry meat and send part of the products for export.
