Denis Ten Foundation, founded in August of this year (hereinafter the Foundation), held on Thursday, December 20 of this year, the first meeting with representatives of the public of Kazakhstan, in which journalists participated, as well as employees of subsidiaries of National Managing Holding Baiterek JSC. The event was held in Astana in the building of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of the Baiterek Holding).
During the meeting, members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees reported on the organization’s plans for 2019 and the first results of the Foundation’s work. The Board of Trustees includes, in particular, Honored Coach of the USSR, Master of Sports of the USSR international class Tatyana Tarasova, Head of the National Skating Federation, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK Bolat Zhamishev, film director Timur Bekmambetov, President of the Central Asian Fuel and Energy Company JSC Sergey Kan, as well as other individuals. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees is headed by Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of RK Yerlan Kozhagapanov.
“The key activity of the Foundation is the popularization and development of figure skating in Kazakhstan, including the effective selection of personnel for top-level sports. The plans are the creation in our country of the Academy of figure skating. This is only a part of those undertakings and plans that the Kazakhstan figure skater and Olympic Games medalist Denis Ten lived in,” the Director of foundation Oksana Ten said at a press conference held during the meeting.
The first results of the Foundation’s activities were, in particular, the organization of master classes for young Kazakhstan figure skaters with the participation of four-time world champion, three-time European champion Alexei Yagudin, as well as two-time world champion among juniors, figure skater Elena Radionova.
