Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding, hereinafter – DBK, the Bank) and “Prima Kus” LLP have signed a credit line agreement to finance the construction of the third phase of a modern poultry complex for the production and processing of broiler meat in Almaty Region.
During a recent working trip to Kostanay Region, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with agricultural producers and emphasized the importance of increasing labor productivity and introducing new technologies in the agrarian sector.
The “Prima Kus” poultry complex is precisely such a strategically important project, aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s food security and ensuring the supply of high-quality local products. Upon commissioning, the plant’s production output will expand to 26.5 thousand tonnes of poultry meat per year and will create around 700 new jobs.

DBK’s financing will be provided under the Bank’s Investment Project Support Program in the agro-industrial complex and food & beverage production sector for 2024–2029, which was announced last year.
It should be noted that the poultry complex is part of DBK’s portfolio of projects to expand poultry production capacity in Kazakhstan, which in the coming years will provide an additional almost 200 thousand tonnes of poultry meat annually. This volume, together with current production, will not only fully cover domestic demand but also enable the export of part of the output.
