The Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (DBK, the Bank, a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding) participated in the Islamic Finance and Business Forum, where Botagoz Abisheva, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Financial Management, was awarded the WOMANi Significancia 2025 International Award.
The forum gathered more than 200 participants from different countries and was devoted to the development of the Islamic economy. Within the framework of the event, the award ceremony of the WOMANi initiative was held, which annually recognizes women leaders who have made significant contributions to the development of Islamic finance and business. Botagoz Abisheva has been chosen as one of the Most Influential Women in Islamic Business & Finance in the CIS Region and has been recognised as WOMANi Significancica 2025.
"It is a great honor for me to receive the award for my contribution to the development of Islamic finance. This is a very significant and promising industry that needs to be actively developed. The Bank will continue to make a significant contribution to the development of Islamic finance in Kazakhstan," said Botagoz Abisheva.
The WOMANi initiative annually publishes a list of the 500 most influential women in the Islamic economy. The list includes heads of central banks, Islamic financial institutions, ministries, investment funds, international organizations, and academic institutions from various countries.
The main goal of WOMANi is to support women in the field of Islamic finance and create a global community to share experiences and promote women's leadership.
