The Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding) became the winner of the Association of Development Finance Institutions in the Asia–Pacific Region (hereinafter referred to as ADFIAP) award in the category "Infrastructural Development" for the implementation of a large-scale project to repair highways of national importance. The award ceremony took place on April 24 in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
The project, funded by DBK, provides for the repair of 5,000 km of highways. To date, 1.2 thousand km has already been repaired, which contributes to improving the transport connectivity of the regions with key logistics and economic hubs.
The implementation of the project will allow to increase production capacities in the regions, create new jobs and provide comfortable conditions for the population – thanks to high-quality road infrastructure.
"For us, this award is a recognition of DBK's systematic work to develop infrastructure and improve the quality of life in the regions. We continue to finance projects that create long–term value for the country and our citizens," said Marat Yelibayev, head of DBK.
The ADFIAP Award is awarded for outstanding sustainability projects implemented by member banks and financial institutions over the past year.
