Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of the Baiterek holding) participated in the 14th International Mining and Metallurgy Congress.
The International Congress ASTANA MINING & METALLURGY 2024 is a unique platform for exchanging experiences, ideas, and plans that contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of the mining and metallurgy sector both in the region and beyond. This year, the event was attended by 1,280 delegates from 20 countries.
At the congress's plenary session, DBK's senior banker, Nariman Kozhagulov, spoke about the support tools and experience of DBK in implementing projects in the mining and metallurgy industry, as well as proposals for the development of this sector.
The mining and metallurgy sector has a significant socio-economic impact: job creation, export orientation, and tax contributions. DBK's loan portfolio in the mining and metallurgy sector includes 11 projects. These enterprises employ a total of over 15,000 people.
«The Bank is ready to actively facilitate the implementation of investment projects in the mining and metallurgy industry, aimed at stimulating socio-economic development, ensuring import substitution, and increasing the country's export potential», emphasized Nariman Kozhagulov.
The main financing conditions of DBK are a project amount of at least 7 billion tenge for DBK financing or at least 3.5 billion tenge for syndicated financing or co-financing, with a loan term ranging from 5 to 20 years.
